FAQs – a roundup of our customers’ questions

Everybody likes to start the new year feeling ready for the year to come, so we thought we’d be as helpful as possible! We get asked all sorts of questions by our customers, so today we’re going to answer the most common ones and hope they help improve your Jones & Cane experience. Obviously this doesn’t mean we don’t want to hear from you with your own lovely questions, so if you need to know something that isn’t listed, give us a call on 01603 722264.

Are you open to the public?

We most certainly are! Our packaging cash and carry is open 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. You can buy all the things you can see on our website and more, including bubble wrap, large cardboard boxes, loose fill, and rolls of brown paper. And if you’re not entirely sure what it is you want, our staff are on hand to help you find a suitable product. For your satnav, our postcode is NR13 6PZ – look out for the signs with pandas!

Do I have to buy in large quantities?

Absolutely not. We’re a small business, and as such we pride ourselves on serving the needs of other small businesses – which means we sell our products in pack sizes suitable for any kind of users. For example, you can buy a pack of 50 paper sacks, whilst other merchants might expect you to buy in the thousands. This applies to both our website and our onsite cash and carry.

Do I have to set up an account?

You can do, if you’d like us to become a regular supplier – you can call us to discuss this and we can send you the relevant details and T&Cs. Or you can pay by cash, card or cheque in our cash and carry when you visit us. Online, you can pay by card or using Paypal. We hope this offers something to suit everyone.

Can I have bags or sacks made with my design on them?

If you’d like paper bags, sacks or polythene carrier bags with your logo or design on them, we can explore this with you. Minimum order quantities apply, and these differ depending on the product you choose. As they’re bespoke products it’s best to give us a call on 01603 722264 to have a chat about your requirements.

Do you stock environmentally friendly packaging?

Yes. Many of our customers have been keen to switch to greener products over the last few years, and we’re pleased to have a good range of paper, recyclable and biodegradable products for everything from clothing to foods. Our paper sacks, for example, are made of pure Scandinavian kraft paper which is both degradable and also comes from forests that are managed strictly to ensure sustainability.

I sell online – what would you recommend for posting out my products?

Lots of our customers sell online, so we can definitely help. We sell boxes in all shapes and sizes, padded envelopes, mailing bags, bubble wrap. loose fill, document enclosed wallets, tapes, strings… you name it! Our products are used to mail out everything from high end textiles to fairy gardens.

Lastly, a slightly less business-focussed question…

You have a sausage dog on your home page! Will I get one free with my boxes?

No, sorry. The Boss won’t let us keep more than one on the premises (spoilsport!). But if you’re a dog lover, office pup Edie will be more than happy to frolic around your feet as you make those important packaging decisions in our cash and carry.
